Coffee smoothies are something I've been doing for quite awhile for breakfast. I'm definitely NOT a morning person, so a drinkable breakfast is key for me. This one is great because I get my AM caffeine fix, plus some healthy fat and protein to satisfy hunger all morning. This recipe is simple; you could totally adapt it to what you have on hand in the kitchen.
Breakfast coffee smoothie:
Adapted from The Paleo Kitchen
8-10 ounces freshly brewed coffee, chilled
2 tbsp nut butter (I used almond)
1 tsp honey (or agave, or leave it out if your banana is very ripe)
1/2 -1c milk ( I used almond coconut)
Add all ingredients to blender
Make it your own by adding protein powder or using flavored coffee. You could even add chocolate syrup or cocoa powder to make a mocha smoothie!
